About Historic Hollywood Cemetery
Historic Hollywood Cemetery is a privately owned perpetual care cemetery founded in 1895. It is Houston's most perpetual care cemetery and is conveniently located inside the loop just of I-45 between the Historic Heights District and the Near Northside. Our bilingual staff is available Monday through Saturday to assist you in finding a permanent place of remembrance ... a place to honor a special life and a place for your family, friends and future generations to visit and pay tribute.

Buried here are Texas Republic descendants, celebrities, local officials, ministers, attorneys, soldiers, homemakers, mainstream Harris County citizens and even the inventor of the ice cream cone, Andrew George Simmons ... we have been a landmark for six generations of families and would be honored to be one for your family and many generations to come.

Contrary to popular belief, the cemetery got its name from a family admired by the original founders of the property, not the famous movie location in California. Thanks to new ownership and management, Hollywood Cemetery became Historic Hollywood Cemetery in January 2009. The cemetery later received “historical” status by the Texas Historical Commission.
